God is the Creator of all that exists. God is Love and Truth and Light. God is good – there is no evil in God. Jesus Christ came to earth to reveal who God is – the loving actions of Jesus show us that God cares about every person. Jesus said that God is our Father and takes care of all our needs (Matthew 6:8-15).
Is God Real?
Yes, God is real. God existed before time began. God is the originator of all that we see on the earth. God is Spirit and cannot be seen with our eyes, but we see evidence of His existence in everything around us. God created beauty to lead us to find Him. Acts 17:24-28
How can I find God?
God made you and He wants you to find Him. You have an emptiness inside that can only be filled by God. Talk to Him. Open your heart to Him and ask Him to fill you with His love. Follow the ways of Jesus - love your neighbor and yourself. Honor God and do what you know is right. Read the Bible to learn more about God and how to get close to Him and receive His love and truth. He loves you! John 3:16-17
Names of God in the Bible
God has many names in the Bible – each one represents a part of His nature and character. He told Moses His name was “I AM who I AM” (Exodus 3). The name Yahweh or Jehovah is often used to refer to God. It means Lord or Master – the absolute ruler. El Shaddai is another name of God – it means Lord God Almighty. Often people would add a descriptive word to God's name to express their experience of His goodness. For instance, Jehovah Rapha is the Lord my healer. Jehovah Jireh is the Lord my provider. Jehovah Shalom is the Lord of Peace.
Why Should I Seek God?
God is the most amazing Person in the universe! You are made in His image. He loves you very, very much! He wants what is best for you. Life will never make sense until you know Him and His ways. Your heart longs for love and truth – that longing is for God! God wants you to know Him and be close to Him. He wants to meet your needs and help you to love others. He will give you wisdom to make good decisions so you can be safe and happy. Luke 12:22-34
