As you let go of those who hurt you,
you also let off the steam that could cause you a lot more
physical and emotional damage.
Forgiveness is what many people struggle with but it will
set you free from all forms of bitterness,
anger or vengeance that seem to consume you.
Through forgiveness, you can find new hope, joy,
peace and freedom in life.
Everything that seems stalled in your life could be
as a result of unforgiveness, forgive them.
Jesus should be your role model in forgiveness.
He came to save the world but it rejected him. (John 1:11).
His brothers mocked him saying;
"Leave here and go to Judea, where your followers can see your miracles!
(John 7:3). He came to set the captives free yet the captives beat him up,
crowned him with thorns and crucified him
(Matthew 27:32-56,Romans 6:6, Isaiah 53:5).
Yet on the cross he prayed for his accusers,
He cried; father forgive them for they know not what they do”
3 Benefits of Forgiveness
There is a restoration in forgiveness –
Parable of the prodigal son taught us that once the son returned to the father,
the father accepted him and once again,t hey became a family unit. Luke 15:11-32
There is redemption in forgiveness –
Through Jesus Christ,
everybody receives forgiveness and redemption from the kingdom of darkness
into God’s marvellous light.
Ephesians 1:7, Colossians 1:13-14
Have you had a similar experience with Jesus?
Have your loved ones treated you harshly,
broken your heart, invaded your privacy,
spitefully used you, mocked your existence? Do you feel angry towards those who grieved, aggravated and offended you?
Do you want justice done against those who spitefully use you?
Unforgiveness is like a leaking lead; it leaks joy,
peace and love from lives. It introduces anxiety,
sadness, anger, bitterness and imprisons us all;
why not try forgiveness? It sets you free from kinds of captivity.
Forgive those who spitefully use you.
Forgive those who deliberately wronged you.
Forgive those who hates you.
Forgive those who choose not to forgive you.
Do not allow forgiveness to hold you at ransom,
forgive and move on.
