How to Prepare Mjadara(Lebanese, Palestinian, Holy Land)

Mjadara is very healthy food one of the most important Middle East food specially in Lebanon, Palestine, Holy Land).


  • 1 cup of Lentils(Small Lentils is batter)
  • 1/2 cup of rice or Burghul
  • 5-6 chopped onions(you can add more upon your test)
  • 4 cups of water
  • 1-2 tsp. salt(or upon your test)

Preparation method: Boil the lentils with 4 cups of water until it is almost cook, in the mean time we fried the onions until it get brown color as much the onions color darker is batter.
when the onions is ready we add it to the lentils boiling pot and after 3-5 minute we add the rice until its cook
We serve the Mjadara with a fresh vegetable salad or we can serve it with yogurt.(bona petite).

*  Salad that go well with the Mjadara is Arabic salad that contains(tomato, cucumber, spring onions, mint leaf, parsley leaf, Lemon juice, olive oil, hot paper, salt, black paper)
